Facebook recently made another decision regarding all messenger users who are required to have a Facebook account.
In 2015, Facebook allowed potential users to access the app using only one phone number.
The Facebook social network confirmed the change to VentureBeat, explaining that “most users who use messenger already log into Facebook” and that they simply want to “streamline the process”.
A spokesman says the new rule also applies to those who are “new to messenger” and that those who already use the app through their account should do nothing.
Some users complained that they had trouble signing in after the app reported that there was a restriction on their account.
It is unclear if the change will have any impact on Facebook’s plans to make its messaging applications interoperable.
