Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is hopeful for an immediate impact from the newest transfer, Japan’s Takumi Minamino.
The former RB Salzburg striker will be free to play for the Reds from January 1st after a few days ago announcing his transfer for around eight million euros.
Klopp was asked about the club’s new transfer after he addressed the media ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Leicester City.
“We will see. Everything we know about Takumi fits in very well for us, ”Klopp said at a news conference.
“His football skills first and foremost. Decision making in tight areas. His speed. His desire to win a ball back and pressing. He’s used to it because Salzburg has a similar philosophy to us. “
“This is really good. But then we have to see: how will he adapt when he comes and we are allowed to work with him? How can we put it down? ”
“But in the long run there is no doubt that he will help us. This is obvious. “
“I’m looking forward to working with Minamino. But from now until Takumi’s first real day at Melwood, there are three more games. “
“So I have little time to think exactly where he will fit in,” the German coach concluded.
